Victoria ( Ref 7011 ) Queen at just 18 years of age Victoria became a towering presence over the course of her reign. Together with her beloved husband Albert, they were patrons of many institutions. Bereft after the death of Albert, Victoria received criticism for her long retreat from the public eye. Although in mourning for the remainder of her life, she did regain her public role; she was appointed Empress of India, and celebrated her Golden and Diamond Jubilees. Mother to nine children, indomitable, tenacious, dutiful, Victoria died aged 81. This collection of 54 playing cards is a pictorial album of her life and reign.
